Kitchen floor options

Kitchen floor options-image-3691866263.jpg

Looking to replace the kitchen floor with something that is less busy and distracting appearance wise. I'm partial to hardwood/hardwood-like but open to other options.

The rest of the house has the very old hardwood seen in the pic.

Any suggestions?

How about hardwood?

It looks like you have red oak now. You could put in new unfinished wood and have the floors refinished so it all matches OR you could put in a different style of prefinished wood to give it some "contrast."

Stay away from laminate, just my opinion.
