So I'm installing a laminate floor for a client on the entire top floor, and I'm trying to keep all of the rooms connected together. Along the hallway there is a section where approx. 6 rows will continue from the front of the house all the way to the back, leaving those rows about 50 feet long. I know it will look great like this, but I heard the other day that I should separate one room with a transition or the rows will separate over time. Is this true or can I get away with keeping everything connected?
I have installed hole apartment floors, bedrooms and all in one lay. Some people will tell you that you need a transition under the doors but I think that's just the easy way out then to make your cuts under the jams which can be done if you know how. Make shore your lines are staggered 12" apart and you have your 1/4" gaps.
