Being a tile guy you'd expect our home has ceramic tiles in many of the rooms. They do, or shall I say they did?
After being told that our 35 year old kitchen cabinets and 20 year old ceramic tiled floors and counters had served their purpose, I finally gave in and have started a complete demo of the main area of our home. Everything ripped out and now the old kitchen/dinette, dinning room and living room are one open area. Yes, the wall separating the rooms is gone.
We decided that this time we're going to go with hardwood floors which includes the foyer, total approximately 725 sq. ft. on this level.
I was trying to find the right color hardwood in a hard exotic species and was hoping to find a Brazilian Teak, (cumaru) or Brazilian Walnut (Ipe) that was just right. I checked online first & ordered some samples from Build Direct.
I received the first samples within 2 days. WOW, what service. FED-EX International. (Build Direct is in Vancouver, Canada.) Unfortunately the Cappuccino Teak was too red. A second order got me Walnut Espresso samples which is too dark & Walnut in Natural, too light. Darn. These I received overnight, within 18 hours.
The people at Build Direct could not have been nicer and more willing to get me what I wanted. Unfortunately it didn't work out this time. (this was my first contact). The sample I received were all beautiful and appeared to be the finest quality, (premiere) and the prices are very good. I would highly recommend them to anyone.
If you ever contact them ask for Kuba Kuburic or Kevin Song and tell them Jaz told you to call. If they don't hang up on you, you'll be in good hands.
