Hi, my wife picked out some wood flooring...i think its one of those tongue and groove? its going on a cement slab, as its on the first floor...what is usually the best way to put it down? we're thinking of the glueing thing as that is what one of our books mentioned...there were other methods, like nailing or floating, but, as we're a on a slab, we figure, glueing may work best...any suggestion? any problems we may run into as we're new and never done it before? btw, we're gonna buy the liquid floor leveler...we used it before to level a floor before intalling tiles, and it worked pretty well for tiles..do we even have to do that for wood flooring?
Hey Itnenaer, The key to installing hardwoods on a concrete slab is moisture content among many others. You might want to consider a product that seals the concrete to ensure your floors do not buckle from moisture. There are several out there but the only one I have experience with is "Bone Dry" they only sell direct but that is the only product I have experience with. Be sure to ask them if it is compatible with your floor leveler you mention.
