Installing Prefinished Hardwood Flooring Around Kitchen Island

I will be installing a prefinished hardwood floor around the center island in my kitchen. Any hints to make sure that the rows of flooring do not go off line when installing the flooring around the island? The flooring will be running in the same direction as the length of the kitchen island.

Installing Prefinished Hardwood Flooring Around Kitchen Island

Put a temporary straight edge at the other end of the island, And measure each side as you install new boards against this reference point, adjusting as needed to keep them the same distance.

Hi Bob,

Thanks for the reply. Hope I can find a straight, straight edge that I can keep parallel to the boards at the start of the island.

Run a chalk line at both ends to establish straight parallel lines.
