Installing Hardwood in Tricky SpotHi,
we are planning to install hardwood floors in the next couple months. We are wondering whether to hire a professional or do it ourselves. If we do it ourselves, we have a tricky spot that we don't know how to do...The hallway joins up with the family room, whichis fine since all the wood would be going in a good direction, across the floor joists. But then the hall turns at about a 45 degree angle for about 6 feet, then turns again at another 45 degrees. It seems like it might look better to have the grain of the wood follow the angles of the hall, but that might be hard to do. Would it look funny to have the wood just go the same direction throughout? Because on the first part of the hall we would have long pieces the length of the hall, but then by the last section they would be short little pieces, the width of the hall. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Or maybe we just need to hire someone, eh?
that looks is completely sane.
go for it.
