Installing hardwood next to carpet

I will be installing hardwood in a room with three walls. The fourth side will be met with carpet. I plan to start at the far wall and work to where the carpet will be. How do I end the last row of planks? I was told that in a standard installation, with the wood meeting 4 walls, I would face nail the final row. But in this case, it will meet carpet and will not be covered with baseboard. Also, do I need to cut off the tongue from the last row?

Installing hardwood next to carpet

If it meet carpet in an open doorway you should be able to use the nailgun all the way to the end.

I usually rip off the tongue of the final row and bevel the edge if its meeting carpet
