I don't think there is a best time of year to install hard wood flooring.

Different brands and types of flooring request different amounts of time to acclimate. The flooring should be spread out through the areas that are going to be floored (not just put in the garage). Lets just say a case of 3/4” 20 square feet is around 56 pounds; a 2 bedroom house at 900 square feet would weigh in over 5,000 pounds.

Moisture meter is a must IMO. Best to check the moisture before ordering the flooring around out side walls and bathroom walls. You still need to test after old floor comes out.

Time of year means nothing, it's temperture and humidity that's important.
Need to be testing the floors not the walls as the other poster suggested.

Is this flooring going over a home with a basement or crawl space?

I meant to check the moisture of the floors around the outside walls, bathroom, and kitchen.
