Installing Hardwood Floor

I am about to install 2200 sq ft of hardwood floor in my restaurant. What is the best way to put it down. About half is going on a very dry concrete slab and the rest on a wood platform. Because this is a Bar I am concerned about water(SPILLED DRINKS)seaping underneath the planks and causing damage. I was told to glue the planks down and then nail and i was told to just glue the planks down only. Please advise the best way to do this. I am in the Virgin Islands and can not find a contractor to do it so I am stuck doing it myself.
Thank You

is this a solid or engineered wood floor?

how thick is the wood?

how wide are the planks?

this info will help.....
