Installing engineered hardwood flooring over concrete

I am installing engineered hardwood in my living room and hall this wood will be glued to the concrete. The living area has 2 entries on the same wall with the fireplace(6') between them. At one of the entries the concrete is a little bit higher than the other side.(This is not the transition this is the concrete that I will insall the floor on) Does any one have a suggetion on this? Or on concrete sanding?

Floating this floor would be a better idea. Float it over 6 mil poly film.
Use a t-molding where there are 2 different heights...that may work depending.

Installing engineered hardwood flooring over concrete

Hello Floorwizard

I considered floating but I don't like the echo in the room when you walk on it. The room is very large with high ceiling and I thought the glue down method would make the flooring sound more solid. I guess I did not make my question clear I understand the T -molding for transition but the concrete where I will lay the floor is higher on one side of the fireplace than the other. On one wall there is and entrance, 6' of fireplace and the other entrance.

Thank you so much for your reply

Debbie

Go ahead & glue it. Tape down a piece of plastic for 48 hours. If you get moisture, put down an elastomeric coating first.
