Installing bamboo / hardwood over osb

EFTHIM Member   Join Date: Mar 2012 Posts: 30	Installing bamboo / hardwood over osb Is it advisable to put 3/4" wood or bamboo flooring over 3/4" OSB? Can the OSB hold the nails? thanks

joecaption Member   Join Date: Nov 2011 Location: Hartfield VA Posts: 18,121	Installing bamboo / hardwood over osb If it was mine I would have added at least 3/8 (1/2" would be better) underlaymant. Making sure not to have the seams line up wiith the seams below and never attach to the floor joist, do not use glue. Attach every 4" on the edges and 6 to 8" in the field. It has more to do with stiffing up the floor then nail holding.
