Indoor flagstone slabs over crawl

I'd like to put in a flagstone patio next spring and carry the flagstone right into the adjoining sunroom. The sunroom is on a hill, and while the door to the patio is flush, the room is over a crawl. I'm sure I'll need some beefy subfloor to pull this off, but I don't know to what extent. I did some forum searching/googling, and while there are some pictures of what I'm looking for (like this one), there's not much on how to make it happen. Any suggestions?

Edit: After reading around some more about people pouring concrete over subfloors, I suspect much of the same applies. I'll have to get under there and snap some pics/get measurements to determine what the subfloor is currently, and that's not happening until it's warm again.
