(I also should add that you'd have much more control over the swirls if you were working with a large, flat piece from above. I just poured in a little at a time into a plastic box from each mortar batch, slightly swirling with a screwdriver. And it's only the 2 black/white/grey ones, that other all grey piece, and the tan piece, were stucco color testers, no swirling on that haha)

I like the swirling effect. You should try it on your garage floor.

Our concrete countertop fabricators have tried a method like that with the countertop colors. They know what you mean about it being easy to over "swirl" and start mixing.

Good luck with the garage floor. I'd like to see photos when you've finished it.
