How thick a subfloor is best?

Hello, I,ve got 19/32 plywood as the sbufloor in my living room (above grade). I am planning on installing oak hardwood flooring (the regular kind you need to finish and sand etc). It seems that the instructions say you need 5/8-3/4 subfloor. So my question is should I maybe glue and screw a 1/4 layer of plywood over the existing subfloor? Are there any negatives to doing this? I did notice that before we bought the house "professionals" installed a prefinished wood floor in the kitchen and I think they just went right over the 19/32 plywood. Any advice would be much appreciated, thanks jason (joists are 2*10 16 on center)

Jason,

You already have 5/8" subfloor. All plywood is now 1/32" thinner than the stated thickness, so you're fine for hardwood.
