When checking subflooring for level, how level is level for the purposes of shower base installation. Of course the ideal situation is balls on level, but in the real world I'm not so sure anyone really gets that picky. Hell, I've seen some remodel jobs where even contractors seem to be fine with 2 inches in 10 feet. I'm certainly not that sloppy.
Anyway, checking level on the subflooring I just installed the bubble measuring in most places never leaves the center. In others the edge of the bubble is on the edge of the line either side of center. If there's a dip say at a joint it's maybe 1/16th deep.
I'm putting down 1/4 hardiboard over top of the subfloor and I'm thinking that the thinset should take out the minor dips and level issues. Thoughts?
P.S. have you checked out the wonderful information already posted about how to set tile on this site???????? The search is such a wealth of information, the more you read, the more you will learn and you will have a job that will last and you can be proud of!!!!!!!!!!
