Question

How to lay floor on a wall?

Hello all, I am a new member looking for some thoughts on my options.

I am looking to lay an engineered bamboo hardwood (T&G) around the front and side of my bar. I have a 3/4" construction grade plywood base. I am thinking of use a construction adhesive (PL Premium) to attach the flooring to the plywood. I want to use this as a brad nailer will leave a mess of holes and I have been told a flooring nailer won't work properly as it is being held against a wall instead of a floor.

So, two questions...

1. If you wouldn't do it this way, how would you do it?

2. Should I attach the floor horizontally or vertically across the bar

Why not nail into the tongue with that nailer? I'd install them vertical or diagonally, never horizontally.

I just figure with it being a bar front people will be bumping it with knees and feet constantly and thin brad nails won't give much support.

Why would you not go horizontally?
