How do you cut laminate?

I know they have a special cutting tool for laminate but at this point (beings the fact that i never plan to put down laminate again) i do not wish to purchase another tool. Is there any other way to cut it? I have a circ saw, a recip saw, a jigsaw, and an oscillating multi-tool. Is there hope or am i SOL?

Anything that will cut it. A skillsaw, jigsaw, sharp knife, not so good,...etc.

You will need a router with a trimmer bit to take down the extra material that you leave when working with the laminate. It can not be cut exactly and then glued on.

How do you cut laminate?

I mean floating laminate... not glued. Just floating and covered at the edges with baseboard trim

A chop saw is definitely quicker, but it can be done with a circular saw.

If you use a speed square as a saw guide your cuts should be straighter. Marking and cutting from the back of the board will minimize chipping with the circular saw.

Go buy the blade ! Something like this.
http://www.amazon.com/Irwin-Industri.../dp/B000089H9G

Cutting laminate is hard on sawblades. Consider it an expendable.

A miter saw, table saw,or radial arm saw,cut with face side up,only face down with a circular saw.

I always thought it didn't matter. If your cuts show up your not doing it right. X2 on the ruining of a blade lol

I always use a jig saw. Its right there on the floor with me. No getting up and down a thousand times. All of your cuts are going to be hidden under molding so no need for a perfect cut. Also handy for notching and so forth.
