How do I tell if I have a subfloor ?


I can tell because my floor is also the ceiling in my basement. There's actually a couple of small gaps in between the planks where I can see straight through. Check it out from your basement or crawlspace.

You have a subfloor if when walking on the floor you are still on top of the joists and didn't fall to the floor below.

What do you mean by that question?

Pull off one of the heating floor registers. That will show you what you have
