How to attach reducer?

Hmmm.. how to describe this....

I've tiled my kitchen and I have about 1 1/2" wide by about 5' strip of subfloor I'd like to cover with some sort of reducing strip to transition into the livingroom oak floors. The surface of the tile is about 1/2" higher than the wood.

I was going to cut a piece of oak to do this.. but, I'm wondering what's the best way to attach it? Nails? If so, what kind? I don't want them to work their way loose as the strip gets walked on. Should I glue it? My fear with glue is that if I ever have to replace the thing.. it's going to be a pain.

What's the standard here?

Liquid nails and a few finishing nails to hold it until the glue set up.

If you have access to a table saw.-a router and a sander you can make a better reducer than you can buy.

Finish the piece well before you install it. Silicone the gap between the wood and the tile(hopefully you can find a suitable color) Good Luck-Have fun---MIKE--
