Help with Underlayment

I am taking on my first tiling project and need help!!! Installing 13' and 6.5" porcelain tiles in a hopscotch pattern in dining room and kitchen. So here is where I am and what I have questions on.

** Subflooring is 23/32 Advantech on 19.2 oc on I beam joists with a supported span of 14'. I went to Lowes to buy additional plywood to build up subfloor for stability. I purchased Georgia Pacific 15/32 4 ply Exposure 1 plywood. This will go between Subfloor and 1/4" hardibacker.

? Is this plywood suitable as an underlayment between subfloor and hardibacker?

? If so, do i place them perpendicular to Advan tech subfloor?

? What nails should I use?

? Do I nail them into the joist?

? Do I need to fill in the 1/8" gaps with something prior to applying Versabond fortified thinset between plywoood and hardibacker?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
