Help on materials needed for granite tile

I bought some non sand grout, fiberglass mesh tape, little things.

BUT what i couldnt figure out was the thin-set i needed. Should i get the pre-mixed stuff or what? White mortar? confusing (yes first tile job and on granite of course haha).

Any recommendations on the type of sealant i should use?

And lastly 1/4 or 1/2 backerboard, im guessing 1/2 would be best.

Thanks

Premix on any tile materials is usually a bad idea. we've been using a lightweight thinset from Mapei on just about everything now and it works quite well.

Is this granite floor tiles? If so, what size and color?

Don't use premix. For granite use a medium bed mortar to ease the leveling. I like white, you'll be able to see it better when cleaning the joints, nothing like finding a little missed thinset while grouting. Don't use the same fiberglass mesh tape for drywall. You want an alkali-resistant mesh tape usually sold near the Hardie. Tape as you lay, not before.
