Help with Glue Down Floors


I am ripping up the glued down engineered hardwood floors in my house to put down different glue down engineered hardwood floors. The floors are coming up but the glue is pulling up the smooth top layer. I am going to patch the larger chunks that come up is not having a smooth surface going to be an issue?
