Heavy Dust & Tongue & Groove Ceiling Fix
My new home is a two-story. The first floor is all Pergo and the downstairs is all tongue and groove ceiling. Throughtout the day as people walk upstairs the dust falls and falls and falls. A thick coat of dust is present each and every day.

I need a way to seal the T&G above my office where computers and other senitive electronics reside.

A polyurethane sealant was recommended as a "possible" solution. I don't know the difference or if this is even the solution.

Are you saying you can see the overhead flooring from the computer room?
Is there is no ceiling?
I would start with your air filter, check it first.

I cannot see the flooring from upstairs. What I can see is unsealed T & G above me. The dust is extreme and thick each day -- an air filter might help the symptom, but I'd like the cure :)

In thoery there should not be any dust coming from the under the Laminate if they used the proper thoery...

It will hard to apply poly to a ceiling.

Here is a time consuming idea for a fix: Run a color match caulk in the joints between the boards. It will take longer than the Poly attempt but you will not be fighting the gravity issue that you will face with poly.

That sounds like a great idea. I can tell you that the workmanship is not the greatest. I have seen worse, but some of this is just sloppy. I don't know what is above the T & G but will give the caulk a go.
