hardwood questions

Which method is recommended for installing 3/8"engineered hardwood over wood subfloor, the flooring adhesive technique or the staple/nailer technique?

Also is the tongue side to be facing room ,ive seen both directions mentioned online.
And isnt the felt to be laid in the same direction as the flooring- with the joists,Ive seen it mentioned both ways, again.
Thanks for any info.

I can use either option from manufacture specs .
I guess ill just use the nailer option with the felt running in same direction .Will nail thru the tongue edge(after 2nd or 3rd row). And run it in same direction as hallway /kitchen floor since it will be right at hallway.

I would staple it. It will feel more solid to walk on. I prefer the bostich staplers like this for engineered http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-pla-_-NA-_-NA. Hope this helps.

I agree .. Staple it , If you glue it will not have a vapor paper , Unless you coat the floor with a vapor retarder , Glueing is usually for concrete , Stapleing is way easier to repair than glue down

this is a good deal, i bought their nailer for 3/4 inch hardwood and worked great on the 3 rooms i have done so far and its 100.00 dollars than the bostich. HD was selling freeman products.

it comes with a 7 year warranty too
