hardwood floors squeak


I have hardword floors throughout my home..the only problem is they squek and you can hear every step someone makes..is ther a way to fix this?

Pony walls?..sorry not familiar with that terminology.
Concrete foundation?
Crawlspace?

They make a special fastener and bracket to screw to the bottom of the floor and the joist.





Sometimes construction adhesive will do the trick

When I was a teenager I learned to sneak around the squeaky floor and which stairs to skip or step lightly on to be a good teenager.

Baby power sprinkled over the floor and swept into the joints sometimes gets rid of squeaks.
