Hardwood flooring

I have hardwood flooring in my kitchen and half my living room. The floors are under my cabinets and I'm wanting to put down a laminate floor but it isn't as thick as the hardwood. Will I be able to put the floors down I want with out having to take the cabinets out to get all the floors up.

Hardwood flooring

why do you want to replace hardwood with laminate? the hardwood adds value to your home, laminate doesn't. if you are removing the hardwood to install the laminate you can just cut the hardwood along the cabinets. you can rent a toe kick saw to cut it but be very careful when using it. since the laminate isn't as thick as the hardwood you will have to install shoe molding along the bottom of the cabinets to cover the gap.

Hardwood flooring

Unless you build that floor back up if you remove the hardwood it's going to effect all the baseboards, toe kick, door openings.

Why are you not just refinishing the floor?
Nothing will lower the resale value of a home faster then a laminite floor.
