When installing 3" engineered hardwood straight. When starting in the first room and laying the planks what is the best way to make sure you are square in the next room when continueing laying the hardwood?

Hello homeboy and welcome to the best DIY'r site on the web.

There is a simple answer to that question if I understand it correctly, it called planning.

Be aware that walls in a house are not parrallel and square with each other (at least 99% of the time) so planning, laying the floor out, running string lines helps ensure the straightness of the floor which in most cases will deviate from the walls.
