Hardwood floor directions

I have a kitchen and hall way where the hardwood floors should run on way and and entry way where the floors need to run the opposite way. These floors will meet in a hallway. Am I breaking any design rules if I change the direction?

Hardwood floor directions

I would say they should all run lengthwise from the entryway all the way through.
