how do i end the hardwood floor at a sliding door closet

Use a router and round over the edge of of the last board.

If the wood is not running parallel to the door opening --use one or two strips that do--and start at the door.

Top nail and route the pieces to make it all look more parallel as it transitions into the closet where nobody will see it.
