Hardwood or engineered over crawlspace
I am pretty inexperienced as a DIYer, but after a previous thread decided to try installing either hardwood or engineered over a crawl space. The popular suggestion seems to be engineered because of the crawlspace? Opinions? The other question is, how will I be able to ensure the moisture level in the crawl is acceptable to not damage the flooring. Currently, only a third of the dirt ground is covered with a plastic barrier. And natural draft vent on all four sides. I have noticed seepage through the foundation wall after a lot of rain and wet dirt around the edges. Looking around , the joists and subfloor appear dry and mold/mildew free. Any suggestions or input is very much appreciated. Thanks.
