grout in tile veins and pitts

We just put down new tile in our mud room...the tile has lots of veins and pits, now they are filled with the grout...we have tried everything to get it out. I'm hoping someone can give us some good advice on what to do now...the floor doesn't look the same and we just loved it prior to grouting. My best results came from using a hand steamer then using a sharp tool to get the grout out...takes forever!!!

Shame on you for not getting the tiles clean when you grouted.

Now that I've bawled you out---Are these ceramic or natural stone?

If ceramic start with a wash cloth soaked in vinegar--lay that over the tile--avoiding the grout lines--let that soak and soften the grout--then use a white scrub pad or a stiff little scrub brush---

If that doesn't cut it---go to a tile store and get a grout haze remover--that should do the job--

Acid will soften grout--vinegar is an acid--avoid getting to much on the good grout as it will leach out some of the color--

If you have natural stone--marble especially---DO NOT use an acid--
It will dissolve the stone and take off the shine instantly

Some tiles have nasty little crevices that are a pain like that---You would not make that little over site ever again--

That's the big difference between a pro and a novice---We know what to watch out for---because we already made that mistake----Why do you think I know how to fix it?
