Granite or porcelain tile
Which is the best suitable for shower flooring and bathroom flooring?
|
if it is inside the shower i would go with porcelain. granite with wet feet is slick as ice
|
Go with the porcelain or even a ceramic, slate or travertine will work good, grout and seal. Small square tiles work good on shower floors. Granite is good for countertops and backsplashes. :)

Granite is not all the same---some would make a suitable shower if you don't mind some extra work sealing and cleaning it.----
Porcelain or ceramic is the first choice because of it's ease of maintenance--- Marble of any kind is usually regretted as the shower ages-----the soft absorbent nature of that stone means a shorter life before the material is discolored. |
I'm no expert, but I personally would go with ceramic or porcelain. I like to bleach, scrub and clean my showers with reckless abandon. I'd be too paranoid that any of the cleaners commonly used in a bathroom would discolor granite.

Actually, you should use porcelain, and keep them kinda small for the shower floor. I recommend no bigger than 3.5". Although porcelain is ceramic, when I think of ceramic I think of regular soft bisque wall tiles, which should not be used on a shower floor or any floor.
