I installed a Mannington engineered floor a few years ago, and am now going to use the same product for the stairs to my basement that I've almost completed finishing. The initial installation was a staple down job using the SpotNails stapler they recommend. However, I'm thinking it will make for more solid stairs and nosings if I trowel on some wood adhesive for the tread installation. Is there any reason to not use glue AND staples? I want to avoid top nailing, so the combination seems like the best way to ensure the planks stay in place while the bond sets.
Thanks.
