glazed or unglazed tile? how to tell?

i am getting rialto beige tile from lowes. on there website it is listed as unglazed with a pei rating of 5. through research, the pei rating is supposed to be for glazed tile only, true or false? the man at lowes says yes its glazed because it has a slight shine to it in the light which is what i thought to. the del-conca(rialto) website says no tile sealer is needed because it is pre-treated in manufacturing. my question is if there is another way to tell if it is acutually glazed or unglazed like a home test or something? i want to know if a grout release is needed or not.

Yes, of course you're right, the tile is glazed. Arm yourself with knowledge about the right products and methods to install it because as you see they've given the wrong info regarding the most fundamental and easiest question considering your selection.

You won't need a grout release, just good grouting techniques. Doing a floor...wall? How is it getting set and over what?
