I'm using a mastic tile adhesive to install 1 X 1 inch glass mosaic tile sheets on plywood for a countertop. The tiles are only about 1/8 inch thick and when I press the sheets into the adhesive, it oozes out of the joints between the tiles. Does anyone have any ideas about other adhesives or installation methods? I don't want to spend hours cleaning adhesive out of all those little tiles! Thanks!
Huh, glass tile on a counter, with mastic, on plywood. That's strike 3, you're out!
Where did you get the idea you should do that?
I don't think you should be using glass on a counter. Definitely not on plywood with mastic.
You should be using a white premium thin set mortar rated for glass. You should have first installed a cement backer. I'd check with the manufacturer about using their glass on a counter. I'l bet the answer would be "not recommended".
