General flooring question

I have a foyer and was wondering if it is personal preference for tile or hardwood flooring, or is there an Advantage or disadvantage to using either. Thanks

General flooring question

Typically a "foyer" gets a little extra abuse if it is used to enter and egress. Therefore something durable and easy to clean and water resistant would be a good choice.

Tile.

General flooring question

Gotta agree with Bud. My entryway in the front is hardwood. I have thought about cutting it out at the archway to put tile in front of the door. The wood over the years has been stained something terrible,
