garage conversion need to level floor
The home I purchased recently has a converted garage. They did not level the floor :(. I have received several bits of advice ~ from shimming to using self leveling cement. Has anyone successfully leveled a cement floor?
By level, do you mean there are dips in the floor (low spots) or that the whole floor actually tilts in one direction (water runs off)? (And I'm assuming it is already a concret floor.
If it's low spots, filling the spots with the cement is really the only way to go.
If it's tilted, you might have to pour another floor on top of it. If you do this, create footings through the old floor before you poor the new one. This will help keep it from shifting on top of the old floor.
