Default Gaps from room to room

We recently moved into a new place and the landlord put new hardwood floors down before we moved in. The rooms look great, but when they lead into other rooms that don't have the wood flooring there is an awkward gap with what looks like jagged pieces of flooring and a small gap between where the flooring stops and the next rooms, tile or carpet begins. Is there a simple solution to this problem?

Yes there is. They are called Thresholds and can be metal or wood, but if you have a landlord (a.k.a. Rental unit) tell him/her the job is not done and it presents a safety hazard.

Thanks! He just told me that they are installing the "saddles for the floors" tonight. So hopefully we will be good to go. Thanks for the info.

Buy some of those hardwood planks. Measure and cut appropriately. Buy the Adhesive, Staples or whichever method he used, and patch up the Gap. If not, put some carpet over it... but that would be wack.
