A forgiving bathroom floor

I am currently busy designing my bathroom remodel. I live in an 120+ yr old house that is sturdy and dependable but sure isn't straight. I am working with a contractor on a plan to jack and level floors as best he can without messing up the rest of the house. The problem is two huge (unused) brick chimneys.... but I plan to remove them to releive some of the weight pulling on the floors when we redo the roof this year. I would like ceramic or duraceramic in my bathroom but my contractor (he has worked with me in the house before and knows its many faults) feels this is probably not the best choice due to my floors sloping to the center, even though he is going to do his best to get them back in shape. Any suggestions for nice but forgiving flooring options? Thanks, Andrea

If the sub-floor is sufficient (IE: 1 1/4" over proper span - check them and post back size, spacing and span) than just use a self-leveling compound to make the floor level. If it is not bouncy the duraceramic should work fine.
