Floor Trim Ideas Needed-How 2

I am replacing carpet w/6 X 36 vinyl planks on a concrete floor. After getting the carpet up I have found that between the sheet rock and the floor there is about 1/4 inch, which of course the molding that I had to also remove hid this to my eye. Needing a smooth surface for the planks I have noticed the concert floor at the edge of the sheet rock is very rough. I need somehow to extend my wall out a little to get a straight edge to start the planks and a molding idea to lie down on the planks once they have been installed. I am a novice at this.

You will need a patch grey preferd and patch where the carpet tack strip was make as smooth as possiable. To start the vinyl planks measure out from an outside wall (most square). Make marks on floor about 4 planks wide ex. 4 inch planks measure out 16 inches, snap a chalk line and glue this area. Start planks on the chalked line and work back to wall, let set then work your way out. As for the trim add quarter round it makes for a nice picture frame look. Good Luck!

No idea and I have been an installer for 40 years.

Just use a cemetious based patch, not gypsum based and you will be fine.

I find using color such as grey for cementious and white for gypsum, maybe easier for a novice to find.
