Floor Track Stuck Under Wall

Hi. We are putting new laminate floors down.
The previous home owners built a wall right over top of a strip of metal floor track. (The stuff that separates one type of floor from another.)
We have to remove the floor track because it doesn't allow the laminate planks to have the correct spacing from the wall, 1/4-1/2 inch.
What is the best way to remove the track? I hope it doesn't involve cutting the drywall above it or the plywood beneath it!
I couldn't get my camera to upload so I "painted" a picture of it.

Without that picture not sure what it is your talking about from that picture.
Could be a trasition strip your talking about.
If so it's just nailed to the floor, but your saying they built a wall on top of it which makes no since.

are you sure it goes under the wall and not just under the baseboard? an angle grinder or a sawzall with a metal blade or even a hacksaw blade in a holder would work to cut it flush on either side.

Even a wack with a chisle straight down will snap it off.

yes, I do believe it's called a transition strip.
yep, it's under the wall and not just under the base board. The baseboards are already removed. It's peaking out the one side of the wall to much for the trim to hide, so we have to remove it. The wall obviously never used to be there, and I'm not sure why they wouldn't just remove the transition strip first before constructing the wall.
The transition strip is screwed to the floor, not nailed.

Thanks for your help. We tried a second time to push in under the drywall so it wasn't peaking out anymore and we think that will do the trick. He used a hammer and some other flat headed tool. If we have problems when we are laying our floor along that little wall, we will try your ideas.

Joe nailed it---wood chisel and a hammer will cut that right off.
