Does the flooring go crossway or length way in a long hallway

it depends on what flooring. hardwood is typically run perpendicular to the floor joists. laminate can be run whichever way you want to but typically the long direction.

If there's at least 3/4 subflooring you can run the flooring anyway you want to.
It's looks a whole lot better running it length ways.
