Floor leak

My sister-in-law had some remodeling done in her bathrooms and new carpet installed in her house. Now she has found that when it rains, there is a section of carpet (by a bathroom and closet) that is getting wet. This section gets so wet that she has to put towels down. This does not happen when the shower or anything else in the bathroom is used, only when it rains. We have not found any water stains or anything else to indicate a leak from the ceiling or walls. Could this be her foundation? If not, what could it be? Please help - seems a little crazy that this is happening all of a sudden, especially after the money put into the bathrooms and carpet. Thanks...... jalynball

Floor leak

I think I would probably look up. There should be a drain vent out of the roof somewhere. Often this is above the bathroom area. It may have poor or missing flashings. This would leak only when it rained. The rain water would leak down the outside of the pipe inside the wall then could end up on the floor.
