Floating floor over cement

I am installing a floating floor over cement slab. The flooring has the underlayment attached to the back. Is there a product I could lay under the entire floor to form a vapor barrier or will the attached underlayment suffice? ~ Gwen :)

In Oregon I would apply 2 coats of concrete sealer and a membrane (VisQueen) with seams taped for the full length.

I will seal the concrete and a thin membrane will work for a barrier ~ PS I am in the desert ~ the sealer will help keep any previous animal odors from surfacing.

6 mil poly.

but you need to test to see how much vapor is actually occuring.

tape a square of 6 mil on all 4 sides and wait a day to look for condensation.
or get a moisture test from HD

try roughing up the floor if you are doing a membrane sealer. Also stay away from the acrylics from what I've heard they fail in a couple of years and you could have problems... the stuff I hear you should use is an epoxy... though it costs more. If moisture was your only concern, you could probably use a penetrating sealer.
