float cement around floor drain

Any tips on floating the cement in this image?
I'll be mixing quikrete plus some portland.

When should I saw down the floor drain pipe?

Do I need to be concerned about floating the cement up to the existing floor crack? It doesn't have to be perfectly level.

Thanks,

Have no idea what the heck you are doing!
Why is the floor drain fixture two feet in the air? Assuming that's what that is.
What is the overall plan?
Try again.
