I am planning to install BR111 Triangulo 3/8" engineered hardwood using staple down installation. After I ripped up my carpet and the padding I noticed that the subfloor is now about 1" lower than the tile floor in the kitchen, dining and bathroom.
I plan on adding height by laying down 23/32" plywood using ring shank nails.
I noticed however, that there is a low spot located along a hallway where the lowest spot is about 3/4". The total length of the low spot is about 5" long slowly dipping to its lowest at 3/4" at around 2 1/2 feet.
How can I solve this problem? I don't think I can raise the current subfloor in that area because there is wall structure on both sides.
it may be possible to trowel on a floor leveler to bring the existing subfloor up to the proper level and then lay your new underlayment over top. It may take several applications depending on the product you use.
