Default First timer

Hi. I am about to put down laminate flooring in a room about 12 x 12. The house is about 110 yrs old. Pulled up carpet and foam. Does anyone have any preferences and even if the laminate has a foam underlay should I put down another foam underlay because of the old flooring and staples from all the carpeting that has been laid. This is my first diy project.

Thanks
Ray
