Finish piece in front of brick fireplace?

Hi all,
Installing a new Pergo (floating) floor and don't know how to "finish" the floor around the fireplace in the middle of a wall. Normally just 1/4 round over the top along the edges but the fireplace has a 9' wide face of brick, and the grout lines of the brick are very deep. Glue the 1/4 round to the brick? Skip the 1/4 round? Thanks for your help!

Hey neighbor,

No 1/4 round. You're supposed to use what they call a "threshold" there. Looks like this:http://common1.csnimages.com/lf/1/ha...ue+Natural.jpg

The vertical part against the brick, be sure to leave about 1/2" space as shown.

Finish piece in front of brick fireplace?

Well that makes a lot of sense, thanks! Next question.... the thresholds I've used sit generally in a plastic U channel that is fixed to the floor, but this is going over concrete so how should I secure it to the floor? And is there even a U channel under the piece in your pic?

Yea, the moldings for laminates are a little different. You can still use the one I suggested in a color that comes close to your laminate. Glue the bottom to the slab & the back to the brick. Make sure the Pergo is free to move cuz it's gona do alot of that.
