feedback on unfinished red oak flooring from HD?

Hello All:
I am buying a house in which I want to put hardwood flooring after removing the carpet from LR, Dr and FR areas and refinish the existing HW in the kitchen and foyer.

My cousin has a flooring business out of town and is coming for a visit and install the unfinished flooring.

I looked at HD yesterday and they do carry Red Oak but it wasn't graded. Does that matter? Should I go to a company that sells graded unfinished H/W flooring? Also, Lumber Liq has an underlayment which they suggest using. Should I use paper or go with a thicker underlayment?

As usual, thanks so much!

If your cousin is doing the install, then you want to let him advise you on the materials. He probably knows what works best for him.

I believe the material needs to be sitting in the house for a week before the cousin arrives to install---

Make some phone calls---see what grade is available for the various suppliers---and the prices----the pro deck at the Depot should be able to tell you the grade----
