HI, I have a new construction project and I have above grade concrete slab on the first floor. Will have someone install the flooring(vapor barrier, foam underlayment, floating floor).
I will go with engineered wood flooring on the first floor and I was advised to put down 3/4" plywood underneath the kitchen cabinets.
I am using a concrete sealer to take out any moisture issues underneath the cabinets and leveling out the concrete slab which isn't too bad.
My question is:
Should I leave out the plywood "subfloor" for the stove and dishwasher for the floor guy to install the floating wood flooring in those areas? I am only concerned that the plywood might show through when the finished flooring is complete. Or maybe I cut in 3 inches to eliminate that issue?
I have mocked up the base cabinets over the plywood to make sure that it doesnt extend over the kick boards of the cabinets.
Thanks! Rod
